WONDERSCOPE -
ALISA RUZAVINA
Alisa’s Wondercopes are a set of two vibrant, interactive sculptures - a Kaleidoscope located at Regent’s Place and a Teleidoscope located at Cumberland Market. The colourful sculptures are an invitation to reflect on the cycle of the seasons, the joy of play and the magic of the everyday.
The two Wonderscopes were skillfully produced and fabricated by Lucy Norman and Tom Clowney at Studio Makecreate in London.
‘My aim with these artworks is to bring more playful moments of appreciation, magic, joy and wonder into people’s every day. Since ancient times the seasons have led the way in how we humans orient ourselves in the world and this artwork’s intention is to remind us of this simple but potent way in which we are all united through these seasonal cycles and rhythms. I hope that the artworks will provide plentiful opportunities for humans of all ages to stop amidst their day, to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding community and to get new reasons and perspectives to fall in love with the ever-changing world and diverse voices of Regent’s Park Estate.’ - Alisa Ruzavina
