Attention all creatives with lived experience of homelessness!

ODAC's One Roof programme for homeless arts is partnering with Arts and Homelessness International to deliver quarterly scratch nights for artists in our communities. Our first is this Friday evening, and we'd love for you to come.

Date: Friday, 12th September
Time: 17:00–20:00
Venue: Old Diorama Arts Centre, 201 Drummond Street, Regent’s Place, London NW1 3FE

Four works-in-progress have already been programmed into the evening: a monologue, two poets, and the opening song of a new play. The artists will present their work, then host and AHI associate Calum Perrin will facilitate a Critical Response Process in which you, the audience, will have the chance to tell the artists how you received their work and ask questions.

The idea is to help artists go deeper into their work: so rather than getting harsh criticism or unhelpful praise, you're getting a really specific insight into what a range of audience members think your work is about and how it impacts them.

After the scheduled acts, there will be time for others who fancy getting up and trying some of their own work out to do so on a first-come-first-served basis. So if you have a song, a poem, a fragment of a play, or a visual artwork that isn’t yet finished, and you want to find out what people make of it so far, bring it along and get ready to jump up when the opportunity arises. (No fighting over the microphone, now!)

The event is free to attend - just RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/scratch-night-tickets-1644289126039

If you can't make this one, not to worry: our next ones are on 21st November and 27th February, so pop them in your diaries now!
