ONE ROOF FESTIVAL: 2026 GALLERY

For two weeks, ODAC was filled with creativity as artists came together for our fourth One Roof Festival. The studios became spaces to bring our skill sets, perspectives, and ideas together to create work collaboratively. Photographer Alice Horsley documented many of the festival’s moments for us, from hands-on workshops to the celebratory Jam Night.

Nell Hardy, Project Producer, shared with us:

"This year's festival has seen over 100 people, the vast majority of whom have lived experience of homelessness, come together in the name of absolute faith in the quality, necessity, power and value of the arts and homelessness movement - whether as artists, facilitators, producers or audience members. In taking this next step in the programme from sharing artistic skills, to offering opportunities for multi-art form collaborations and co-creation - with the mental health and wellbeing support activities required to support our artists with the emotional challenges of this step up and of their everyday lives - we are demonstrating that homelessness-experienced artists deserve more. In providing more, ODAC is not doing the homelessness-experienced community a favour: we are doing a public service, by making it possible for the artists from whom our society needs to hear, to get that bit closer to claiming reasonable space in the arts ecosystem. Or, for those who don't necessarily want to be professional artists, we are offering the sense of belonging, warmth and joy that empowers and motivates people to live the best lives they can: in the words of one participant, 'One Roof energy should be available on the NHS'!"
