FOYER EXHIBITION: FROM SOIL TO STONE, WITH LOVE

We are proud to be supporting Chrissie Pietzch with her debut exhition on our foyer until 8th December 2025! Thank you to everyoner who came along to the launch on 7th November (photos below!).

From Soil to Stone, With Love

…brings together artists who explore the symbolic symphony of life, death, and everything in between. From the mud and clay beneath the city’s feet to the invisible networks connecting people across land and sea, the works trace the evolution of materials and the ever-changing, interconnected states of nature and identity.

‘What if I am the Earth?’ The exhibition wonders. Inviting reflection on what it means to be formed from the earth and to one day return to it. It opens a dialogue on how, as a species, we seek to harness, control, and alchemise the natural elements. A secret language emerges. Art becomes an act of meditation and protest, where patterns of migration, transformation, and renewal unfold from soil to stone, chalk to concrete, revealing how matter, memory, and identity continually shape one another across space and time.

Curator, Chrissie Pietzsch said “I’m delighted to invite this group of artists to fill the Old Diorama’s foyer with artworks ranging from clay to chalk, photography to painting, and woven textiles to TV aerials. It has been incredibly exciting to watch this show unfold, and to share it with performances from Holly, the dancer, and Tara, the singer.

The energy of the private view truly reflected the strong community spirit and shared curiosity towards the natural world that inspired this exhibition.

A heartfelt thank you to the Old Diorama Arts Centre for supporting this project and allowing me to bring my vision to life.”
