A COMMUNITY-POWERED NEIGHBOURHOOD: NEXT STEPS

Join us on May 19th, to creatively explore how we can work together to continue to steer Euston's future.

In 2025, Old Diorama Arts Centre partnered with Fitzrovia Youth in Action, Hopscotch Women's Centre and Somers Town Community Association, and worked alongside many other local groups, on behalf of London Borough of Camden and Euston Housing Delivery Group to discover community priorities and principles around future housing in Euston. All research informed a community assembly to shape the Euston Housing Pact; a community driven framework launched by Camden Council to ensure that the voices of local residents directly shape the regeneration of the area.

Through shared art-making and relaxed conversation, we listened and learned from residents and collectively envisioned a community-powered future neighbourhood. We hosted Blueprints: A Festival of Community-Powered Housing ideas, bringing residents, activists, artists, organisers, academics, and housing professionals together to share inspiring stories and devise methods to make decisions together about the homes and neighborhoods we want.

It's up to all of us how we grow these ideas, and make locally-led decisions about our future neighbourhood!

So join us on May 19th for next steps on shaping our neighbourhood through community power. We'll unpack the Euston Housing Pact, get creative, and workshop how we can work together to decide the future of our area.

We are anticipating a follow-up workshop in June where we put learning into action to make future plans and allocate resources. You decide how that happens.

WHAT'S ON:

ME + YOUSTON: A CREATIVE RESEARCH EXHIBITION

In creative research workshops, we asked Euston community members to dream a neighbourhood. The results made 'Me + Youston': a hand-made, interactive model neighbourhood that shows what's important to us where we live.

On exhibition in the ODAC foyer.

HOW DO WE DECIDE TOGETHER?: A COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE WORKSHOP AT ODAC

Euston is changing and local people are already organising, campaigning, and

creating new ideas. This workshop brings together residents, community groups

and partners to ask: how do we make decisions together in a fair, inclusive way?

Across the evening we will:

● Demystify the current governance set-up around Euston

● Explore different decision-making models (like consensus and consent-based approaches)

● Test some of these ideas through simple, hands-on activities

● Identify what support and upskilling the community would find most useful next

Refreshments provided.

WHEN:

Tuesday, May 19th, 6:30pm - 9pm

WHO’S IT FOR?
