Regent’s Park Community Iftar

Last week we came together to celebrate the Regent’s Park Community Iftar at Euston Community Hub. The evening was organised by local young people as part of Regent's Park Young Guardians, which is part of Fitzrovia Youth in Action's Community Champions Regent's Park Project, in partnership with us, Old Diorama Arts Centre, and Camden Detached Youth Team.

ODAC was proud to contribute creative elements to the event.

Caito, the artist behind our Neighbourhood Makeshop, supported Makeshop attendees, delivered a crafting session - recycling drink cans into lanterns and candle holders.

Maryam, part of our Operations and Hires team, was the designer behind the interactive placemats for the guests. She explained her inspiration behind them,

" As part of this year’s Community Iftar, we created a reflective and interactive placemat designed to bring people together across generations and backgrounds. Inspired by the stories of the Prophets from Adam (AS) to Muhammad ﷺ, the placemat highlights shared values such as patience, unity, compassion, courage and hope.

The adult side encourages table discussions and personal reflection, while the children’s side includes engaging activities linked to these same values, including a maze, word search and colouring section.

This allows guests to download a digital version and continue the conversation at home because community doesn't end at the table.”
