FISHING FOR CLOUDS
ART EXHIBITION BY ANNA LERNER
‘Fishing for Clouds’ is an exhibition of photography and words by Anna Lerner. “Fishing for clouds [is the] seemingly impossible activity of catching fleeting moments, the intangible, the ephemeral...” This thread runs through Lerner’s photography and forms the focus for selected works and the series they are part of.
With a camera, the problem finder - or anxious mind - becomes the creative, permitted to take the slow lane, and watch moments unfold. Clouds, often associated with distraction and worry, become material for dreams and possibilities, ever-changing, ever-surprising.
Anna Lerner is a Camden-based photographic artist. Playful in approach, she is drawn to natural light, transient moments, overlooked details, the unexpected and the surreal. Working intuitively, her practice is led by an appreciation of the present and art in the everyday. Lerner describes her photography as “fishing for clouds”.
Wandering the streets with her camera, you will find her looking into windows, gazing up at the sky, studying the ground, and generally taking a long time to get to places. This is her first (indoor) solo exhibition.
We’re delighted to be able to share Anna’s work in our Foyer for these seven weeks.
