KQ CONNECT: THE FIVE CS - A READ, LISTEN AND CHAT GROUP

Vital but overused and co-opted, let's ensure these backbones of our society are more than hollow buzzwords.

ODAC’s vision is to catalyse artistic creation and collaboration to transform our society and city. We draw inspiration from across disciplines and forms, especially outside of the arts.

The Five Cs is a new monthly reading, listening and chatting group, initiated by ODAC, for people working, volunteering - or otherwise deeply interested - in the themes of cities, communities, curating, culture and change, and their intersections.

We want to read more widely, and we also just want to meet some other interesting and interested people, and have some good chats!

It’s an informal monthly meet-up for those in the Knowledge Quarter and beyond, who want to develop their thinking and practice through cross-disciplinary gatherings, and meet new people who are thinking about the same things.

We’re starting this group because, in delivery-focussed roles - and outside of academia-, we find that there's rarely the time to research, read, and expand our influences. And for others, not everyone in an organization gets the opportunity to discuss the concepts, methodologies and developments that underpin the work that we do.

Every month we’ll have a discussion about texts and other media from a diverse range of sources. We are hoping that the reading material list can be developed into a peer-to-peer sourced process, consisting of a longer text, a shorter text, a podcast and/or other medium each time. We ask that you have engaged with a minimum recommended extract.

The first session will take place at ODAC and be hosted by Daniel Pitt (Creative Director).

If you have questions, email Daniel Pitt on daniel@olddiorama.com

5.30pm-7pm, second Monday of every month, starting 13th May

FUTURE DATES: 10th June, 8th July, 12th August, 9th September, 14th October, 11th November

Tell your friends and colleagues, or come alone, and sign up asap for first session reading info.
