WORKSHOP: INCLUSIVITY ON A BUDGET

WHEN? Monday evening, 29 September, 6:30–8:30 pm.

WHERE? At ODAC

WHO? Everyone welcome

HOW TO ATTEND? Free attendance, RSVP by emailing collabs@olddiorama.com

The second in our new series of Camden Collabs Conflabs brings together community and arts organisers, participants who use ODAC for their classes and workshops – and anyone else curious to join – for an evening of shared learning, conversation and practical advice.

This time we’re joined by Nell Hardy, leading a session on how to work inclusively, even on a tight budget:

“Inclusivity really is its own reward, and opens up artistic opportunities and relationships that will change how you see your craft and the world around you. And with a few tricks up your sleeve, you can make a good stab at it at any stage of your career.”

Nell will share what she’s learned from building an inclusive practice from scratch. Together, we’ll explore:

  • DIY captioning

  • Integrated audio description

  • Touch tours

  • Negotiating with venues

  • Access-related funding entitlements

  • “Relaxed” performances

  • Access riders

  • Communicating with communities you want to engage – and the gift of being part of the solution.

Drawing on examples from Response Ability Theatre’s work, this will be an open, and practical session with plenty of time for questions.

Whether you lead a group at ODAC, participate in one or many of the projects that happen here, or want to think differently about inclusivity in your work, this session is for you.

Free to attend, but please email collabs@olddiorama.com to RSVP.

This event is made possible with support from We Make Camden, who are helping broaden our support for the Camden Collabs network.
